Memories
Revisited
(the
50's,
60's
&
70's)
Hi, my name is Sheila and this page is dedicated to all those wonderful memories of growing up in the 50's, 60's & 70's. As you can guess, I am in my forties now, but still very young at heart. Remember the high school pics back years ago taken in black and white. Well, I still think they were the best! Don't forget those old photo booths -there are still a few around, if you look hard enough. There are so many memories that all of us "Baby Boomers" have in common. It is sad to see some of the things so common back then such as Drive-in theaters disappear. There are still some around, but not anything like we had back then. At least we have our old TV shows (I Love Lucy, Gilligan's Island, Bonanza, Mayberry, etc.) getting replays thanks to television networks like Nick, etc.
Alot of the things that were so popular in our day are still around, such as Twister, the Hula Hoop, Monopoly, Troll Dolls, etc. Many of our favorite groups/singers are still around too, such as The Turtles, The Rolling Stones, Monkees, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap & Tommy Roe to just name a few. Of course, Tommy Roe was always one of my favorites, since he made that song for me. "LOL" Remember how excited we would get when a new "Elvis" flick was in town? Well, I am a "true" Elvis fan - always was and always will be! There is
something about him that just captures your heart -It did mine from the 1st time I saw him. I was lucky enough to attend one of his concerts in 1975 and I finally made it to Graceland this past year.
(Don't ask about my trip there -it was a nightmare! -but well worth seeing Graceland after all these years)
Well, this is my very 1st attempt at doing a Homepage, so it may not be interesting, but at least I'm trying, right?
Anyway, sometimes I wish we could go back & visit those good old days when kids walked to school and you could have fun without spending any money and families spent more time together. But I also like the modern day inventions such as VCRS, VIDEO CAMERAS & of course -the COMPUTER & THE INTERNET!
A little about myself (back to the present)
I am married with 4 beautiful daughters who are the "light" of my life -Shandi (24) Heather (21) Brooke (17) and Amber (16) I will be putting together a page on each of them as I get time so keep checking back, ok? I am employed full-time as a shipping clerk with the same company for 19 years. I enjoy lettering, stamping, watching my favorite soaps (Y&R, B&B & DAYS)and love Jay Leno's monologue!
I am involved in the elementary & Junior High yearbooks in our town - I started these yearbooks because I really feel that the memories we have from our youth should be forever treasured.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your visit to my "newbie" site -hopefully it will improve in the future. So please stop back again to see how I'm coming along and give me any suggestions, links or memories that you would like to share. Also, let me know how you found me. Don't forget to click on the links -I have added 4 more pages
